About - Our Vision, Mission, Values
Together we make a difference
Advocacy in Barnet’s vision is for people in Barnet and the surrounding area to have the same and equal opportunity to live their own lives and achieve the lifestyle they want regardless of age, disability or health.
Advocacy in Barnet exists to provide free, independent and impartial assistance to people to gain confidence and clarity in representing themselves and communicating their needs in order they can live well with dignity, choice and control.
Advocacy in Barnet works to ensure that beneficiaries are assisted appropriately to enable them to participate in decisions that affect their lives, giving them choice and control over their lives. Advocates provide support, navigation and signposting to residents in Barnet and surrounding areas who seek to apply for Personal Independence Payments.
Advocacy in Barnet is committed to:
- Providing a quality service which is free, independent, accessible and confidential to residents of working age in Barnet and neighbouring boroughs
- Equality and diversity both within and outside of the organisation
- Ensuring that our service is accessible for our users and that the way it operates actively supports equal opportunities
- Providing high quality training and support for volunteers to become advocates
