If you are interested in the work of voluntary and community organisations, have an interest and/or experience of our client groups and the services that we offer and have particular skills that would be beneficial to the management committee, such as accountancy, relevant professional experience or legal knowledge and are committed to giving something back to the community please complete and return the on-line application form. VOLUNTEER ADVOCATES ADVOCACY IN BARNET is looking for volunteer advocates to fulfill an important role in the community. We are a happy team representing all ages and different backgrounds. In our volunteering we meet a variety of people with particular needs for whom we advocate. We advocate for anyone who lives in Barnet who is over sixteen and who is having difficulties accessing Health and Community Services. A copy of the task description is available here Our volunteers receive training and regular supervision and support. We ask for a commitment of a minimum of two hours a week and we reimburse all out of pocket expenses. As a volunteer Advocate you will be part of a team. You will be able to develop your skills through the varied work you will undertake with different individuals. You can read some of our case studies to get an idea what it would be like and what our advocates helped them to achieve. We take on new volunteer advocates a few times a year.
