Financial Advocacy Serivces / SAFE project: Support, Advocacy and Financial representation for the Elderly

Lloyds Foundation Trust is funding Advocacy In Barnet to provide advocacy in financial matters, including protecting older people from financial abuse. We are recruiting new volunteers for this project over 30 years of age with a financial and or legal background

Hospital Advocacy Services / Advance Rapid Response project:

Hospital advocates provide advocacy services to older patients in Barnet General, Edgware Community, Chase Farm, Finchley Memorial and Royal Free Hospitals. Hospital Volunteer Advocates also visit patients on wards at the Royal Free, Edgware Community and Finchley Memorial Hospitals on a weekly basis and, support older patients as a ward based service, ensure their rights and interests are secured and represented, thereby, improving their physical health and emotional wellbeing. We are recruiting new volunteers with health and or care background.

Next available training date for Introduction to Advocacy skills is yet to be confirmed.

As a volunteer you will receive;

  • free training and development opportunities;
  • free enhanced Disclosure Barring Scheme check;
  • on-going support and supervision;
  • travel expenses

As a volunteer Advocate you will be part of a team. You will be able to develop your skills through the varied work you will undertake with different individuals.
